Lavender Smudging or burning herbs often eases stress, clears stale odors from the home, and can even provide insect-repellant qualities for mosquitos gnats and other home pests. 

To light a smudge stick, you can open all windows, hold the stick downward at a 45 degree angle, and light the end with a candle or lighter. Once lit, hold the stick upright with the lit end up let it burn for 10-20 seconds and blow it out allowing for the smoke to continue.

You should take caution when burning candles, incense, smudge sticks, and wood around children, pets or anyone who may have chronic breathing or sinus problems.
