Our Plant Selection
Your outdoor space is just an extension of your indoor space. Functionality and beauty are the two main concepts when adding plants to your garden, and we try to supply them both.
Before Blackcreek Nursery opened for retail in 2021, we grew plants for retail and wholesale customers for over 40 years. First and foremost, we are a plant propagator and grower. We may source some plants from reputable growers, but many of our plants are our own – bringing them up from seeds or cuttings, watching them grow from babies into mature plants that are ready for their place in your garden! Our greatest joy is watching plants grow!
Our plants are grown in Southeast Georgia, about 40 miles from the coast. We choose plants based on what performs well in our climate, not what may grow best in other regions.
That is why you may not find every plant here, but the ones you do find have been carefully selected for their ability to thrive in our Southern growing conditions. Big box stores are known for bringing in fruit trees, perennials, and other plants that are not always suited for this area. We take a different approach. We focus on plants that make sense for local gardeners, and we are happy to help guide you toward the right selections for your landscape so you are not throwing your money away.
Camellias & Tea Plants
We have grown camellias for over 35 years! Our specialties are rare and unusual ornamental Camellias & Camellia sinensis Tea plants. Every grower is different from another. That’s why you will find a great diversity among Camellia growers as to what they grow and sell.
